How e-signatures work
Updated Oct 9, 2026
Agreements in Encore Studio are signed electronically at a secure, private link — no printing, scanning, or third-party e-sign subscription involved.
Two ways to sign
Type — type your full name and it is rendered as a script-style signature.
Draw — draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad, or finger.
Both carry the same weight — pick whichever is easier on your device.
The signing order
The client signs first at the link they received by email (or from the family portal).
The studio owner countersigns — they are notified the moment the client signs.
With both signatures in place the agreement becomes active: the final executed PDF — including a signature certificate page — is generated, stored, and emailed to both parties.
Integrity of the record
Each signature is recorded with a timestamp, and the owner's countersignature is cryptographically chained to the client's — a tamper-evident record of who signed what, and in what order.
Once an agreement is out for signature it is locked: its content cannot be edited, only voided and re-issued. What you sign is exactly what was sent.
If a signing link does not work
Links are unique per document. If yours has a problem, contact the studio — they can check the agreement's status and resend it.
